Chablis 1er Cru Butteaux

Description
A powerful and generous Premier Cru with lots of body and concentration. A style that is similar to the Grands Crus with multiple layers of fruit and complexity in the middle palate. A rare and highly respected Premier Cru.

Situation géographique
Left side of the Serein river. The Butteaux vineyard is at the end of the “Montmains” and “Les Forêts” slope.

Lime-clay soils are dominant here, but the geological originality of appellation Chablis resides in its sub-strata, often quite near the surface, of kimmeridgean limestone, formed by billions of tiny fossilised oyster shells called ostrea virgule.

30 years (Oldest vines : 42 years).
