Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos

Description
Often quoted as being the King of the Chablis Grands Crus. This vineyard produces the best qualities of all the other Grand Crus vineyards. Complex and powerful with a perfect balance, this wine which is vinified in the traditional Burgundian style (100 % oak fermented and aged). A Grand Cru that will reward you with long term ageing.
Cépage
100 % Chardonnay (known locally as “Beaunois”).
Situation géographique
Right side of the Serein River. South/South West facing, the Les Clos profits with perfect sun exposure.
Terroir
Lime-clay soils are dominant here, but the geological originality of appellation Chablis resides in its sub-strata, often quite near the surface, of kimmeridgean limestone, formed by billions of tiny fossilised oyster shells called ostrea virgule.
